Two of my books! To whom do I send the commission check?

Had I been true to my calling, I would have by-passed the winery thing and just wrote. I was told at age 12 that I should pursue a writing career--but who listens at age 12?

Nice metaphor. Someone actually called me a chimp once...oh hang on, it might have been chump, I am slightly foolish now and then. Speaking of foolish, did the baboons predict your success as a writer? Having received two of your books in the past week proves that there is life after owning a winery!

No, Jeff. In 2003, I had a gathering of friends and we drank up all that was left. I had a stash of Riesling and Gewurztraminer that spanned 1985 to 1992. Only one of the wines had gone over the hill; the rest were in various stages of development--some terrific and some ready to start downward.

The stars were a 1987 Riesling, which at the time was 16 years old, and a 1991 Gewurztraminer, which of course was 12 years old.

Nice post, Thomas.

Life is funny the way it works out.

I'm guessing you still have some wine stashed somewhere from your efforts -- might be fun to sell some of that library collection to people online. I'd love to try it.
